Maiden is a Global Ambassador for the Empowerment of Girls through Education
The Maiden crew completed the ninth leg of the World Tour as they arrive into Antigua! It was a long time offshore, sailing over 4000 nautical miles, so it was exciting for the crew to see land again.
The crew arrived into Nelson’s Dockyard and were thrilled to (shower first!) attend a great welcome party at Antigua Yacht Club, celebrating both their arrival and Liz’s birthday.
Maiden will be back to Antigua for Christmas, but for now, she has journeyed to Sint Maartens, where the crew will stay for 5 days taking part in events and meeting young students and sailors.
It was an exciting arrival for the crew, who were joined on the water and welcomed in by many, including The Sint Maarten Yacht Club Sailing School students and the Kids At Sea Programme students. After jumping onto dry land, the Maiden crew hit the ground running and are visiting schools today to spread Maiden’s mission, empowering and educating girls, and getting the students involved!
