Four months till launch!
Well firstly I must apologise for the lack of news on the Blog but hopefully you have been following updates from Kaia on our Facebook page.So much has been going on it is hard to know where to start. The welding and hull plate replacement has taken much longer than anticipated as the aluminium was in a much worse state than we had first been informed.
This has led to the launch being delayed from 28th June to 24th July 2018 but that is no bad thing as when she is finished she will last forever. Howard and the team in Hamble have also been receiving deliveries of winches and other exciting items!
So, now all the work is going towards putting Maiden back together again and this is the fun part. She will take shape over the coming weeks and start to look like the Maiden we know and love again. In the meantime we have been sourcing new partners and sponsors to help make the Maiden World Tour as wonderful as think it can be. The whole purpose of course is to raise as much money as possible for The Maiden Factor Foundation.Maiden's new skipper will be announced on Wednesday 14th March and we are now working with The Magenta Project to find the remaining crew for the tour. There are lost of exciting events around Cowes Week and other UK based events before we leave in September to sail to our first stopover in Jordan.More details on our crew search coming soon!
