Maiden was the story that started a fire in me to race around the world just like my heroes lead by Tracy Edwards! I couldn’t believe that a few years later I would be part of a team lead by Tracy for the Jules Verne challenge and again for the Oryx Quest. We won the Oryx Quest in 2005 becoming the first woman ever to win an around the world yacht race. Now Tracy has the double, first team as well! Fantastic achievement! To be able to Skipper Maiden was a dream come true, I still pinch myself to think it happened! Not only that The Maiden Factors “educate a girl change the world” has enhanced my life with qualifications to Yachtmaster Ocean, which qualifies me for my current position as a skipper and team development manager at Ocean Sailing Expeditions.
