The Maiden crew at the DP World Pavilion, #EXPO2020
The impressive designed DP world pavilion is an interactive experience using excitingly advanced technology to illustrate the history of DP World, originating in Dubai and extending to many countries with difficult access. Nowadays, DP World has a presence in 40 countries across 6 continents. The primary idea they project in the DP World Pavilion, is their plans towards a more sustainable future, in which they are fully committed to minimise their footprint on the planet.
Their corporate social commitment goes further than what a regular company will do. They emphasise that women have an essential role towards a better and more sustainable world; logistics has always had a more male presence, but with the new digital world, more and more women are entering the industry.
At EXPO, we met many women from different backgrounds, who have shared with us that they believe Dubai to be an open-minded, multicultural city that has the power to help the world. The essential pillars on which they are restructuring their change emphasise the essential role of women, education, and the protection of our oceans as vital for humanity.
It was fascinating to see DP World developing a new transport system, the hyperloop with Virgin.
The hyperloop will propel passenger (right) or cargo pods at speeds of over 1000 km/h. That is 3x faster than high-speed rail and more than 10x faster than traditional rail. Over its lifetime, the Virgin Hyperloop will have a lower environmental impact than other modes of mass transportation.
